Ebay Aluminum Radiators...your experiences please...
a friend of mine is running an ebay radiator in his 600hp mirage...and its held up just fine over the last couple of years...
however...i'm wondering if anyone else has run these radiators...which generally cost around 100.00.
here is a link to basically what i'm looking at.

no, i have a dodge colt and i'm running a completely different setup now...where the OEM radiator is too big and too heavy.
here is my car...and i'm going to be running a spearco intercooler that measures 26 x 8 x 3.5.
in order to make this fit....i need a civic style radiator to allow for IC pipes to fit in short route configuration.

my civic overheated like hell with my ebay radiator on my civic.
chet you have seen my civic plenty before as well

I am about 99% sure the Mishimoto & RS units are manufactured in the same overSEAs plantation!!
...either way they are carbon copies of the Fluidyne 92-00 Civic at a fraction of the cost with a 1 year warranty.

ftw, Evotion was a brand from the old Toucan Industries (a brand i wish was still around
).... anyway, they were made at the same place as the Mishimoto radiators, as are most of the non-Fluidyne/Koyo radiators floating around on ebay

i bought one of the original ebay radiators 3 years ago, and still have it. still no overheating issues. and that car has seen some harsh dyno days, 30+pulls in a day. the only gay thing about it is the wierd toyota style cap.

my ebay radiator has proved to be insufficient. if its really hot out and Im driving for awhile 80-90mph, the system will start to heat up. I dont have a problem in normal driving or stop and go city driving. I removed coolant lines from the turbo, cut holes in my bumper, bled the system several times, and the problem persists. the only thing I have not tried is something like distilled water or water wetter instead of straight coolant, and people suggested removing my thermostat but I have not attempted those things yet.
i ran one on my blue car, made 700whp and never overheated until i sat in traffic for like 5 minutes or more without moving much at all, that was with the fan running constantly. Im trying a fluidyne now.
I'm running a half size Mishimoto...and for the price I paid I'm very pleased.
The necks are well constructed, no leaks, no overheating issues...but I'm not trusting the rad cap it came with.
I have an oem fan and thermostat too and have no problems at all.

I use one in my 85 CRX HF drag car I'm currently working on. In my case I didn't care about fitment because just about everything up front has been redesigned and/or fabricated. I will say that they are NOT square and they do not hold much like previously stated. However, they do a decent job for a $100 and mine has not leaked a drop. We'll see how it holds up when I add my turbo this winter. Shooting for 300 HP initially and work up to 450 - 500 over the next couple years. Anyway, here's some pics: http://www.kennardracing.com/g...2.jpg
