im doin a swap right now..since you have the motor and car already it would be alot easier...you prolly got about another 2000 to spend maybe a little more if you do it right

I've never seen/heard of anybody doing an A3 swap...it's probably the least desirable of the K-Series motors because it has VTEC only on the intake side.

Other than that, it'd be like swapping in any other K-Series...alot of work.

It's actually easier to swap in than a B-series as far as the dropping in of the motor goes. There's only 3 mounts/brackets that an aftermarket bolt-in kit uses, rather than 5 which a B-series swap uses.

Some things you have to consider before swapping the motor in:

- custom wire harness (around $300)
- ecu - Hondata KPRO or AEM EMS to power the engine. You won't be able to use the stock K20A3 ecu as it has a security immobilizer chip inside of it that will look for your EP civic's ignition system which is non-transferable to an EG. (can range from $800-1300 for either of these ECU's)
- custom header such as Hasport, Rcrew, or DC sports header (approx. $300-750)
- You might have to customize your axles if memory serves me right, but last I checked K20A3 axles are a direct plug n' play affair (k20 in EG) if your car isn't super low.

...that's all I can think of off the top of my head..

You might want to call Hasport and see if their K20 EG bolt in kit is compatible with a K20A3 engine, cuz I'm not 100% if the mounting placement is exactly the same as a K20A2 Type-S engine.

But honestly, you are better off with a K20A or K20A2 engine rather than a K20A3.......well i guess you can look at this way.....if you do this swap now, you'll be prepared for a K20A2 or K20A-R engine later on down the line
