Got pulled over for tint
Anyone ever had this happen? I live in a town where the cops have nothing better to do with their time. He pulls me over and puts a reflectivity meter on my window and it reads 17 percent, In florida it has to be 30. 30 is like factory tint, I dont know that you could even really consider it tint..anyway I now have to strip off the front two windows(he says the back can stay) and have it signed off by a cop and pay a 5 dollar fine, then I have to get it re-tinted. Retarded I tell you.
Hey, at lease it's a fix it ticket. Up here in Canada, no such thing, you get the ticket $120 and you pay it, then you also have remove the tint as well.

Oh no, I was pulled over just solely for tint, he came over and said "I pulled you over for your tint". luckily this shop i go to here is real cool, so tommorrow im goin in, they are strippin it, ill run down th street and get it signed off, go back to the shop and they are gonna 5% limo it.
i got pulled over right after FnF.. and i got three tickets.. he said i was speeding .. i wasnt.. cause i was watching my guages. cause the night before i added indiglos.. anyway.. then he said my bulbs were blue.. i told him no. they are hyperwhite
he said he never had hyperwhite in his crayon box.. well i then said he could of afforded the Big Box of like 200.. he might of.. he actually laughed.. then gave me a ticket cause my front tint is like an inch lower than that line A23 or something.. damm him..
also pointed out on my tails that the bulbs blink white and soem other stuff.. he said a whole bunch of crap and i took him to court.. got off on a lot.. but still had to pay for the speeding.. cause i couldnt prove against it.. i am in FL .. look into it. .but if its a fix it .. i would pay the five bucks..

I guess its not the money, its the fact that he pulled me over for that and just that. I wanted to darker tint my windows anyway, and this just gives me a valid reason to do so.
That bites. I've been pulled over twice since I've owned my T/A with tinted windows (is it 4 years already?) and both times the officer has complimented the tint. Go figure.
This getting pulled over for BS isnt anything new around here, I have been pulled over for clear side markers, loud bass, and exhaust. My friend has a b18 hatch on sprint springs and he got pulled over when he scraped a speedbump! Its bad around here...
i got pulled over in december for my tint...dude said i was to reflective...that was back in the day...that fashion over function days...but anyways...in TX you can have any percentage tint in the back but piggy said it was to refelctive..he didnt even check my front windows...then he checked my inspection and reg. and he notcied the banner below the AS-1 line...since then ive been tint free...but im gettin tired of burning up in my car so i might get it tinted again...but legally...hmmm....
My father (a local police officer) even said to me "tint used to be the big deal with a modified car, but with all these illegal lights and unmuffled cars with neon and strobe lights its no longer a concern, just having tinted windows on a car isnt really worth our time when there are bigger violations out there, if the tint is really extreme we might give them a ticket if we have pulled them over for something else, but never for just tint"
i agree with your dad, but this view varies tremendously among police officers throughout the country. some traffic officers just plain get bored and pull you over for anything they choose.
