Default k20a or b18c

i jus wanna get a few opinions of wat would be better for my 92 civic si... i deciding whether to put a 98 spec b18c itr or putting a k20a in it and i wanna turbo it. i kno that i should change to lower compression pistion if i get the k20. and i kno somebody will tell me to put this in the forced introduction section and i already did... will the k20 be worth the extra money... or should i stick with the b series?

We see this all the time guy, the motors aren't even comparable. Read the engine swap FAQ at the top of the forum.

LOL not another k20 v h2b thread.

Last time I picked up a new troll and got a point docked for defending myself in an already off topic thread that should have been locked.

This guy is 17. I know at 17 I wasn't capable of doing much more than swapping a D-series.

Much less all the fab work required to get a k in your car.

He's probably like me when I was 17, theoretically modding his car in his mind with monopoly money.

around my area k-series swaps are about 9g's...thats for everything drop ur car off wit 9g's in glove box comback u got a complete swap wit no problems.....basically ur payin so much b/c the motor is newer and its a pain in the *** to swap a k in a dc,ek,eg,& ef.....if have the cake by all means go for it....but u could go b18c build and turbo for around the same price and be faster then the stock K series that u would have for around the same price H-T correct me if im wrong.....But if ur like me and want to do something a little different or new then go K-series...its def ur ride!!!

K-series are nice, I'm sure I'll end up with one one day. but as of right now I can't justify spending the time sourcing out the parts or spending the money.

Not when I can get an h2b in my car for less than $4000.

the k20 is one of the worlds premier four cylinders for a reason.

I can't imagine doing an H2B swap. The K series has got to be easier than that. Im 17 and I have done 4 swaps and and a couple of clutch installs. As long as your smart about things and have tools you can do pretty much anything your self.

You obviously haven't read much about h2b's.

once you grind the block and cut some of the framerail, it swaps in just like a b-series.

It's easy AS PIE in comparison to k swaps which involve hacking up the firewall, custom axles and halfshafts, mount brakets, etc.

It's really not bad. The total modification takes make 20 minutes for anyone who's skilled with a makita grinder.
