Greddy exsaust system
hey guys i gott a question. wel i recently bought my 94 gsr and my friends r tellin me that i should change my piping to 2and a half. I did relize that the car already had a 2 and quarter stainless steel greddy exsaust system.if i do change it, will i lose power or am i going to gain power? wut shud i do?
pls reply back
pls reply back
I have 2.3 piping on my integra and it flow fine...
IMO 2.5 piping on an integra with simple boltons is overkill... You probly lose more power than you gain...

You have to be more specific when you post... what are you goals? Do you have a drag racing car?
Road racing car?
Quick daily driver?
All looks?
What do you want from it... ?

I am not sure what Greddy piping is 2.25" (2 and 1/4"), as most of the kits I have seen are 2.36" (2 and 1/3"). Then again that may very well be O.D. of the tubing as oposed to the I.D. (outer diameter and inner diameter respectively). No matter what way you look at it, swapping the piping out in favor of 2.5" (2 and 1/2") is not going to make a very noticeable difference on you setup. There are not many all-motor applications that warrant the use of 2.5" pipe over 2.25" until you get into a pretty heft power range. I would advise you to save your money and run what you have on there.
upgrade the actual camshafts if you're getting cam gears. make it worth your while. S2S1's are great for cheap power and they wont require upgrading the valvetrain. makes great power on my friends LS/VTEC and they sound damn good compared to the stock B16 cams.. imo
yeah definitely but since you are getting adjustable cam gears its worth it to get cams to adjust. you can get cam gears but it wont be worth much if you arent getting the car tuned. save you money and get them both at the same time then go and get your car tuned. thats what adj. cam gears are for, so you can adjust the timing to gain power. get cams worth adjusting in the tune

Yes, they are good, you wont see as much of a gain as you would with S1's but they are better than GSRs. Save your money and go big.
As far as price for S2S1's, they run from 250-600. Depends on how hard you look. I searched and found these in less than 2 minutes...

However, be warned that some tuners recommend that you do upgrade the valve train when using Skunk 2 cams, regardless of the stage. But i have two friend who run Stage 1's on stock valvetrains without problems. Its your call. To be honest, i would wait, save up and upgrade the valvetrain and go with Pro 1's or S2S2's (http://www.hondamarketplace.com/zerothread?id=1965500). It will cost alot more to mess with the valvetrain but you will realize significant gains from the cams. Sucks that you need a valavetrain to support it though
Once again, searched and found these springs... http://www.hondamarketplace.co...36877
All said and done.. cams, cam gears, valve springs, retainers, and a good tune, you're looking at anywhere from $1000-1750. Once again, it depends on how hard you look. You can find killer dealers and scrape by for a grand.

No problem, keep in mind it is just advice. Keep searching. Keep reading. Make your own decisions from what you gather as fact. 99% of this forum is opinion. Oh yeah, forgot to mention this... the Skunk 2 Pro Series cams are thirsty for higher compression... so running those on a stock GSR bottom end isnt necessarily recommended. Stage 2's is what im doing, so naturally im recommending them
