This is a question that could be easily answered by using a tape measurer.

Do you need a giant intercooler? On a smaller turbo setup you're likely to LOSE horsepower on an intercooler that is too large.

So unless you're making 400+ I'd stick with a regular sized intercooler.

Yeah, he's probably boosting 7lbs on a 50mm turbo .

What's the difference? What are you boosting? You won't gain anymore HP if the intercooler is too large because the turbo would have to fill it before charging the air. So how much are you boosting off of what size turbo?

why wouldn't you ask this question in the FI section? I would think you'd get more informed answers without the "commentary".

17lbs on a 60 trim will be fine with a regular sized intercooler.

What's your whp goal?

PLEASE, go cry to somebody else.

<--- doesn't care.

You can put any size on there, the maximum w/o cutting is probably the 8" or so one you have on there now, you NEED a larger IC w/ the amount ur boosting and where you live, and to fit that larger IC you're going to NEED to cut some fo the bumper out.

We know you didn't ask for commentary, we're just trying to impress on you that the largest intercooler you can find won't make your car faster. It will actually make it slower.

You have the same flow trying to flow through MORE intercooler, thus less efficient flow.

That's what we're saying in a nutshell.

If having a skyline intercooler would benefit everyone, EVERYONE would have one.

The only functional giant FMIC I've seen was on a 480whp gsr 6th gen hatch.

My buddy anthony is making 505whp on his y8 and has a 23"x8" or something like that. If he thought a bigger IC would get him gains, I'm sure he'd spend the Few hundred dollars for one.

Yeah, Dont gotta cut any metal, just unbolt that front Metal Bar that goes across front end. and cut some of the bumper...mine is to damn big. I didnt realize h0w big it was until it got here..Oh well. sits a lil crooked...expletive it. it works. but a friend has an 8inch on his GSR boosting 12psi and makng lil over 315whp.

well to update all of your useless knowledge 12" is the biggest that can fit without cutting anything. You people think you know everything, yes bigger area to fill causes more lag but super heated air also allows for less fuel to be combusted and thus less power. Solution big turbo which already has lag into big intercooler which makes cooler air and more power. Thanks for the lesson guys but i wasn't asking for one, and the reason i didn't post in FI was because this was only regarding fitment, and only on a 00.
