Default 94 GSR Sedan inconsistent starting "fixed" but still nervous

94 GSR, 145k miles. Went for about a 10 minute drive then parked. Came back to start the car 5 minutes later and it did start but died instantly. Tried again and it quickly died; similar to running on 2-3 cylinders where it just can't keep an idle.

The caps, wires, rotor, spark plugs, fuel filter, etc. are all new within the past 3k miles. I retightened everything [including grounds/battery], and then the car started and idled for about 3 seconds before dying. Did it all again, and this time it started up fine and drove home fine. This was about a week ago and since I've been using my other vehicles [another car and a motorcycle]. I'd like to start driving it again but not at a significant risk it's going to give out on me; I did start it yesterday and it started fine and idled fine with no issues/sounds.

Doesn't sound like a timing, compression, starter, or even really a fuel issue. I was hoping it was just a bad connection but rarely is it that easy. Is this a sign a relay [main probably] is going out or that the distributor is on its last leg? Just a bad ground?

If anyone has had similar experiences I'd welcome any advice.
