Default B18C5 swap comming soon, should i convert wiring?

my container is comming in a week and i will be putting my B18C5 w/ Y1 into my crx. currently i have a pr3 and i was going to just chip and use that, but is it worth it too convert it to obd1 or 2? if i convert it what are the benifits? i was just thinking of using a B16A1 intake manifold and TB because that would keep things simple like a B16 swap and really not have to change the wiring. (my motor is just a long block, not complete). so what should i do???
thanks
Mike.
oh yeah and theres 4 more B16B and B18C5 longblocks for sale......$4500-$5500 CDN

get the PR3 ecu rechipped and you'll be fine.
that's what I have.
No problems here.

I have B18C6 (Euro) stock ECU and can tell you it is a pain in the *** to do wiring. I swapped everything from underhood cables, fuse boxes to dashboard wiring. I don't know if you can chip PW0 to act exactly like B18C6 stock ECU but if you can, do it! The only benefit of B18 ECU is service plug I believe. But! if you can't put B18 software into PW0 I would consider this *** job.

Why the Y1 tranny?

Wouldn't the JDM S1/J1 be better-suited for the B18C5's powerband?

The J1/S1 has the same gearing (except for 5th) as the USDM ITR tranny and it also has the same 4.400 FD rather than the Y1's 4.26.

Just a thought, but I'd go with the J1 or JDM S1 tranny if it were me.

if you spent all the money going with the c5, doesn't it make sense to spend a little extra time (or money, just get the harness) to convert it and run it on what it was made to run on?

you can use the pr3 ecu you will have to get a 1st gen b16 distributor (white plug) or you can have someone like place racing make a conversion harness... i think it will run fine with a reprogrammed pr3
