Drop, camber, alligment oh my
I recently instaled some H&R sport sprigs on my 2001 gsr
i also just go a brand new set of yokohamas
i researched and found that with these springs i wouldnt need a camber kit, and that it woud all be able to get fixed with an alignment.
i really would like my tires to last. So i knew a alligment was i order
went to pepboys (ya i know how they are) today was told they can adjust toe but the wouldnt be able to do anything about the camber.
here is a picture of my ride as you can see the camber isnt too bad. shouldnt an allignt be able to get it back to 0 degrees.

so should an alligment do the job?

Oh, it'll still eat away at your tires, just not as drastically.
Even a moderate drop like that can cause camber wear,
I had new tires on, and even my back tires which were not as low showed some camber wear.

This is untrue. I have much worse camber then this. I got new tires and did an alignment. and I have NO camber wear, I must say tho, I once thought this once, despite what everyone on h-t said. Then I had proof.
Get skunk 2 up front and use washers in the rear. Go get an aligment and have them check your toes too. Bam your golden. I would do it even if the tires "look" good. Cause after 5,000 miles of rolling slightly slanted, nothing will "look" good

Does this sound like something someone said on HT?
No, it's personal experience..
And I wasn't even close to tucking tire either.

There's no factory camber adjustment.
You can not adjust the camber without a "kit" of some kinda, whether is be washers or controls arms.
Some people say alittle neg cam won't affect tire wear if the toe is set to 0, I however had different experiences. Lowered on prokits for about 3 years and 50k miles i went through 2 sets of Kumho 712s and 2 sets of HP4s. All were rotated every 5k and balanced. I drive hard, but every time i'd replace them they did show signs of camber wear. I had the car aligned twice a year at Sears because they had a lifetime warranty on it. On the other hand my friend had the same car and same springs as me (cheaper shocks tho) but with a camber kit and went through 1 set of YK421s in 40k miles. No camber wear he also did a h22a swap mid way through.
If I had to do it over again i'd get camber kits, would have saved me about 800 bucks in tires.
