alrite well i have always owned civics so ludes are new to me well i just spun a rod bearing in my 97 prelude sh what are my options are far as motor swaps which motors can i put in and will the tranny in my car the one with the atts will that bolt to any other h22 blocks basically i want to know what motor/ tranny combo will work to swap in my car will all factory mount and stuff besides buying the same motor that came factory i really want a euro R motor or type s motor thanks alot
the type s will be a direct bolt on. I believe the type s is obd 2 and is compatible to your tranny also. correct me if I am wrong though. anyways, good luck.
the H22 from a genuine type-S is the only viable upgrade; & what an upgrade it is
but you'll be getting it with a transmission anyway.
but that is the only other h series that will bolt up and allow you to retain your ATTS
u could always rebuild your engine with type-s parts tho, for a fraction of the cost

well i jumped my car to obd-1 so i lost my atts option anyway lol so if i was to get a complete h22a swap would the new motor trans and axles and eveything bolt directly into the car with out any modification ??
well a type S engine has about 220 hp vs. 200 on h22a4's, but that includes pistons and cams (I am not pos if there is anything else really). So you'll probably see a few more whp since you are running 11:1 compression instead of 10:1 now.

Over time its looking more and more like the H22A4's are inferior to H22A1's and 1st gen H22A's......
I feel like alot more people have had bearing problems with newer H's...
Just sharing something I have been thinking about for years.....
