Default launching with nos

what are some of your tested and proven lauching techniques on street tires......i was thinking 3500 launch and then on the juice.......or maybe a 2000 rpm lauch and then nos.......so many options point me in the right direction

Wait til second gear for Nawws.

I dont think you will be in first long enough to gain anything but wheelspin hitting the juice.

I launched at 7800 rpm on 20x8x14 slicks, but racing on street tires and juice is usless at the track.

BTW did I mention SOHC power???????????

off the line on street tires will get you wheel spin . wait till 2nd and then hit it . prob still get some spin , but its better than off the line .

i dont car about your slips, i want to see it . bring it to a track in the tris state area and when i see it i believe it .
there is no way with the mods you claim to have, someone built that mtor before you had it .

and i kinda am jealous that i could have bought a 200$ junkyard motor and still go that fast. . . . not with your mods buddy , i dont buy it , with a built motor yes, but not with i/h/e/ and sliicks and Zex out of all nitrous kits and a dry kit at that .

Sometimes you get lucky. Now I have a burnt piston. The motor/tranny was $500 from a local fellow that swapped in a built B16 motor.

It come down to 2 things things and ANYONE knows it.......
Can you drive???????
Can you tune???????

IF I only had the money to play with a 16-20 psi LS motor!!!!!!!!!

Mista Bone: Those times are awesome...maybe you should start saving up for that LS/Turbo swap...I imagine you'd be a lot faster than your already fast times!

But yeah, I hear ya on the money thing...my car is making me poor!

What is so hard to believe about BONE's times?

A healthy, stock D16Z6 with i/h/e and a 85 shot would make about 190-205 whp. Put that in a hatch with some slicks (1.8 60fts) and a good driver and it's totally believeable. (13.09 @ 103)

His times are similar to mine, and if I ran some slicks I would even be a little quicker. I am running a STOCK sohc vtec with 5 psi of boost out of the greddy kit. My hatch is a little lighter than bone's, and I'm making 180-190 whp. On stock tires, with a 2.071 60 ft., I ran 13.34 @ 104.87 mph.

Now if I threw on some slicks and got some 1.8 60 fts. like bone, I should be right at his time (13.09) or possibly even into the high 12's.

So, after analyzing his car and time slips and comparing them to mine, it makes total sense! Mista Bone ain't lying.

i just dont beleive it , im sorry .
i hae seen many motors in many cars in many combos , but if it was that easy everyone would have a htch with the 1.6 single cam in it . **** i could have saved almost 30K and went that route if it was that easy. i know that motor can be cool if its built, but with the mods 14.8or whatever from his sig?

How many passes at the track have you made in your car?????

I'm at over 600 now. So many I'm using a Timeslip manager program I got off a Stang site. I now just keep the fastest slips. When next motor is BUILT you can come see it run. But I might just throw in a used slug/rod and spray some more!!

yes one the last slip. I had the launch to get a 12.99999 but after 2nd gear, it was not to be.

I literally expect the dash to fall off on that launch!!!!!!! I was BRUTAL!

Mista Bone's times are good. a 93 civic hatch D16Z6 SOHC V-TEC engine with Header, stock EX exhaust,Test Pipe, 75 Shot Zex Kit, MT 20 x 6 x 14 slicks runs 13.54 @100 . you can check it out for your self at http://zex.com/Community/Gallery/.

I have one question for Mista. im thinking of getting the Zex 55 shot kit pretty soon. When you go stage do you have your kit activated or do you activate it in 2nd gear, also have you ever hit the rev limiter with the kit on ? sorry for the dumb questions but im a newbie. PS: props on your car,

That was Matt Patricks car. He works for ZEX/Comp Cams.

My kit is ready to go right after burnout. I do not have a purge kit. This gives a slightly softer launch for the first 2 feet, letting the slicks have a chance to hook up.

Fuel cut rev limiters = DEATH on a Honda with juice. I had Locash rechip my ECU to 8500 fuel cut, but have a 7800 rpm ignition cut chip in the MSD 6AL. I shift at 7000-7100 rpm. I have hit the limiter in first gear when the slicks hit a patch of water.
