Replaced Tie-rod ends w/ Mevotech.. Question about a feature
I changed my tie-rod ends with tie-rods made by Mevotech. Everything went smooth until I noticed a feature I've only seen on these tie-rod ends. On top of the tie-rod that is bolted to the spindle is a little golden piece that is screwed in. It's very small and doesn't look significant, but who knows? I'm wondering because my steering is very sensitive now.... so I'm assuming this little piece has something to do with it.
Thanks for the help!

that pic is super huge and blurry. its hard to make out what it is.... it kinda resembles a bleeder valve, sorta like the one for your brakes.....
Does the piece you're describing look like the one in this picture? If so, that is a grease fitting, and has absolutely nothing to do with how your vehicle handles.
Make sure you use a grease gun to grease the tie rod end then. If you don't, the joints lifespan will be significantly shorter. Some joints don't have them because they come pre-packed with grease.
