Are you seriously getting rid of an STi for a GSR?

Doing payments on a new car is better than a paid off thief magnet

i'm guessing that he, like me, has learned that it's cooler to have $$ to invest elsewhere than cars, at some point? i'm in the middle of selling my '98 vette w/78K, bought an '01 GSR w/140K instead. couldn't be happier, i LOVE this car.

Bingo. Lots of teens in my area are running around with Evos and STIs that are struggling to make payments. Storing that money in a CD or short term investment would definately accumulate over the years, allowing them to step up to a nicer car...

well, its a regular wrx first off. and im paying $630 (+ $230 for insurance) each month cuz i did a 4 year loan. when i first got out of college all i had for bills were my car, insurance and cell phone. so i didnt care. now i want to get a house and pay off my student loans and marry my fiance. so the car needs to go. ive always liked hondas, and i think a GSR is a great car. besides, modding a honda is a hell of a lot cheaper than a subaru. mod for mod atleast...

a used WRX and a used ITR both in great condition will run at around the same price. he has nothing to gain from getting an ITR and might as well keep the WRX.

I did the same exact thing. I just sold my 04 STi and am fixing up my GS-R. Money is better invested in something that goes up in value like a house. Good call.

thanks for all the supportive words. ive heard lots of bad things about honda-tech before so its good to see there are some mature people here.

how are people doing in auto-x with their GSR's? i do pretty well with my wrx and am curious how the gsr will keep up to the sti's and such that i was keeping up with in the wrx.

Before i bought my GSR, the previous owner actually won a championship with it in i believe it was either HPDE or Auto-X. I can email him and ask him. But the setup on the car was exhaust/intake combo with itr front and rear strut bars, neuspeed lower tie bar, and comptech rear sway bar. He was using koni spss re-valved struts on ground control coil-overs. Just to give you an idea, this setup can be very competitive from what he says.........

Actually here is the car many moons ago before i bought it..........

And develop paranoia?

It is hard to find one these days with a clean title.

Even if you manage to find one, they are awfully overpriced.

yea, good luck finding one, that's the hard part. People know how rare these cars are and howmuch they're worth. I just bought a 96GSR w/ 108k miles in good condition for almost 5k. My 3rd GSr, and love them. I thnk I'm gong to keep this one though bc its a 2door, the other 2 I had were 4dr and all were nice. if you can get a 99 w/ low miles for 6k I would grab it b4 it vanishes.

as to your first post description of the GsR your looking at, you might have a winner on your hands. its sometimes tough to find these cars untouched, especially with decent mileage. if you do get a GsR keep her clean and love her for what she is. god knowns i love my GsR. props for the move to Honda
