Why do you plan on rolling the mileages?

That's just dishonest, if you ever plan to sell the vehicle.

^^ its not dishonest if he is trying to get it back to the miles on his motor. he said he wants it to show his miles.

This was discussed a few months ago on here. Try and search for it, it was a pretty long thread I think.

its not being dishonest, he is trying to show the mileage that is actually on his cluster, rather than adding 40k unwanted miles and miles that he did not accumulate.

The best way to do this, is to fill up your gas tank, park your car in a garage with glass windows, on top of a cliff, jack up the car, put the car in reverse and a cement block on the pedal. Then kick the Prelude's front end repeatedly saying "Who do you love? You love a car!" Then, just lean on the front bumper.

I bet you could take your odometer out of your old one, and put it in the new one...

^^^ so he could still have a broken odometer? or wait i guess he didnt say what part was broken

if you have the 92-93 (which I'm assuming by your user name) with the analog cluster, you can take it apart and pop out a c-clip and roll the numbers. it's kind of finicky but do-able.

and if you decide to upgrade to EL gauge (from 94-96 PRELUDE) then read this thread for how to modify the DIGITAL ODOMETER in the El gauge, I followed the write up in there and it worked great. Now you have answer to both analog and digital cluster for 4th GEN PRELUDE...

bump it. i miss seeing rpm's .

all the clusters on ebay dont match up with mine. i got 117k on mine and i dont want a cluster reading like 145k lol. so is there any possible way on a non digital (analog) odometer that u can roll back the mileage on a 4th gen?

...i'm sure you can report to your DMV that you have replaced your odometer because it is no longer working....just report your miles that it has last shown, and they will record the miles on the new cluster

ANSWER is YES, you can. i actually rolled mine back. who cares if its illegal, i'm not selling my car. you just pop the cluster apart and take a screwdriver and push it back. my odometer still works fine.
