Default Insurance rates are insane?

Why is insurance on the Fit so bad? I was quoted $290 a month! My previous car (06' Si) was under $200.. whats the deal? Any ideas?

I was going to get a Fit Sport this weekend, but I guess not.. I'm not paying almost double for insurance than what my monthly payment would be..

I don't know, maybe your insurance company doesn't like you or Fits? I pay $237 for my Fit and thats a little cheaper then what I paid for my old Crx.

I pay $195 a month for Full coverage on both my cars 07 Honda Fit and 02 Civic LX, and that includes an additional $5000 coverage for my paint and $1000 coverage for my wheels on the Civic.

I'm 27, with 1 ticket on my record.

Maybe you should try Geicko. A fifteen minute call can save you %15 or more on your car insurance!

So easy a caveman can do it

Since were somparing. I pay $1,349 for 6 months of insurance. Full coverage though. God could smite my vehicle, With in the next 26 days, and the Insurance comp has to buy me a new one (not dep. value, brand new) .

Thats crazy high for a Fit. Either you have a terrible ins. company or you have a lot of points on your license. I pay way less than that for my 350z or Integra.

145 a month here for full coverage... in Philadelphia. A place known for high insurance rates.

No points.. The only bad thing on my driving record is one accident , but its getting close to the three year mark so its about to be dropped. My insurance company usually gets me the cheapest rate. I broke down and got a Fit anyways.. Ive wanted one since they came out. Its still sitting on the lot since I dont have insurance for it though. I actually was pretty suprised on the apr I got. I expected higher figuring I have very little credit.

My Si was under $200 for full coverage alone, and only $90 as my secondary since I have a 97' Civic HX as my daily.
