Which engine mount did you use on the driver side by the timing belt cover? Utilizing the one attached to the car is difficult. tried using a 92-95 civic but that wouldn't work.

Nope. Sorry. The one on the original engine will not bolt to the zc and the one on the new engine will not bolt to the car. They are angled differently. I need to make it clear that this not the 89-91 zc its the 92-95 zc.

No.........you dont. Let me make this extremely clear......

THIS

NOT THIS

The engine mounts are quite a bit different. And the one from the stock engine will not bolt to the block of the new engine (one of its many differences ) so can someone who has this

in their car let us know how you mounted it.
People with this

can answer only if they don't repeat what the wrong people said.

I also will make it clear that this engine is out of a domani in japan. Not a civic, not a crx.

Are you sure it's a ZC engine? Does it have ZC stamped on the block? Usually that's a direct bolt-in.

Nothing on the particular swap but it was close. It had something on the 95 di6a6 which will help with the wiring. That will help us later. Nothing about the motor mount though but thanks for saving us time in the future.

yes it does it was purchased from h motors, and was sent by mistake. They told us to keep it as it was a better motor than what we paid for as it was the newer zc non vtec. I believe it goes beyond 95 to even the 99 models in japan but research on this is hard to do. Which is why i assume someone whose done this would be of better help that hmotors.

Now that you mention it, they did continue to produce the ZC engine in base models into later generations in Japan and Asian countries. I'm not sure what a Domani's US equivalent would be, but I'm guessing that it's not lining up because the pattern for the bolt holes matches a later gen mount.

Hmmm.... checking Google it looks like they were produced from 92-98, and sort of look like Civic sedans. Maybe the mount would match up with a 96-98 Civic?

Just some thoughts, GL

You sir may just be the genius we were looking for! these are much closer than what we got.

They are out of the 96-00 civics. I think we'll go snag one from the bone yard and give it a whirl.

I am sorry but i dont know how to do the quotes properly, but more importantly did you say that hmotors said that motor was non vtec. That motor is definetly a vtec engine based on the spark plugs being on the exhaust side of the head. Just wanted to clear that up.

i just did it 2 weeks ago on my crx i used the stock d16a6 mount and i completely swapped the cast piece that attaches to the block. it worked absolutely perfect and yes its the 92-95 motor. the only thing is you need to use the 92-95 timing covers and take out the small rubber pieces that would normally tought the cast piece of the mount

i swear to bob it works

and as far as the d series goes the castings where the same from 88-00 so the cast pieces of the mount will bolt up. ive done it many times before as well. i might have pictures i can dig up cause i remember answering this question to someone else before

not all sohc non vtec engines had the spark plug tubes on the back side of the head. i think that the only ones that had them of the back is the the 88-91 civics and crx's. you cant see a vtec solonoid, and it appears to have a vacuum advance on the dist. but thats a diffrent story

to answer your question, i have a d15b vtec and i have the same problem. all the mounts line up but the drivers side mount. what i did was use the bracket off the stock crx engine and the stock mount and shim the front bolt with washers to tilt it back a little. it sits a little corked in there but i has worked for 1 year now without a problem. so everybody that was saying stock mount they were right, but you have to make it work.

i seriously doubt that a 96-98 mount will work because they mount to the frame rail of the car in a completely diffrent way, unless your are willing to completely cut out your old mount bucket and weld in one from 96-98

i would like to see pics because all the ones ive ever done the drivers side mount was tilted way forward. the hole of the drivers side of the engine for the mount are pitched at a diffrent angle than that of a civic/crx. unless it was diffrent for jdm engines.

Right, but its still angled incorrectly. So it's not the equivalent. I find it odd that there isn't a mount that works exactly.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by iandavis90 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">

I didn't look at the exact number of that particular engine in that picture supplied from ebay, but in the picture you can see the bracket in question bolted to the side of the engine. Or at least close to it. The cars about a half hour away so I wasn't exactly sure. But i'm positive the one we actually have is non-vtec.

While looking at my em1 i noticed that the mount bolts are pitched almost identically. However, the bolt that mounts to my car is vertical compared to the crx being horizontal. Which leaves me wondering if a hasport or other brand swap mount for a b16 in a crx would work considering the pitch of the mount bolts?

Short of looking into that, the only option, from what i gather from the last few quotes, is you gotta rig it. With it being slightly turned did it raise any questions at the track during tech?

Yeah if you could dig up a picture that would be great.

back in 98 i ran a y8 block with a 88-91 non vtec head. the only thing that need to be changed was the driverside motor mount to the 88-91 d-series mount. So i don't see what your issue is... Also why don't you take a picture of this motor you have, instead of pictures from the internet.

Right but like i said that mount wont bolt up to the block. For some reason it has a different bolt pattern on the block.

And the motor is 30 minutes away, and I was asked to post this last night so driving out there would be stupid when there are pictures of the almost exact same engine with the exact same bracket available on the web.

Jesus jones........
The bracket that hangs out of the side of the stock crx si motor will not bolt to the side of this particular zc engine for some reason. And you don't "/thread" until i get the right answer.

well i don't see you buying this motor then... all d-series motors are interchangeable, so are b-series. you could bolt a 99 GSR block with a 92cable tranny into a 90-93 integra. no modifcations needed.. you would just need to use the 90-93 bracket on the 99 motor. thus the same with the d-series you could bolt a 99 D-series block into crx as long as you use the crx driverside mount. But maybe, maybe this isn't a civic motor... This could be the reason why you can't change the mount.

-Wikipedia
"ZC (similar to D15Z4, D16A1, D16A3, D16A6, D16A8 and D16A9 engines)

A few D-series variants are labelled "ZC" (usually JDM), but they are not truly a different series. There are both SOHC and DOHC ZC engines. The SOHC ZC is similar to the D15Z4 and D16A6 engine, and the DOHC ZC is similar to the D16A1, D16A3, D16A8 and D16A9 engines.

Euro Mk1 (85-87) 1.6 CRX's are fitted with an engine designated "ZC1" which is a higher spec 120bhp version of the D16a1.

What is a ZC? (fourthgenhatch.net)"
