How many are used for dohc VTEC? I've done clutches on D-series and B18B and there were only 6 bolts, but I just got a JDM B16 and am putting a new aluminum flywheel and new clutch on it and there are enough holes in the pressure plate and enough threaded holes in the flywheel for 9 bolts. I only have 6, just wondering should I run to the dealer and pick up the other 3 to be safe as I'll be running 8300rpms...

 

i used at least 9 in mine, i would get the extra bolts.

 

Hmm... Well in helms it shows 6...baranco acura also says 6 for ITR, in the "Req'd QT" box.
But...I know both of those have been wrong before...

Joel if you decide/find out you need more, I have some here, brand new, if you dont feel like going to the dealership, only to find out theyre special order...

yes you only use 6 bolts. there are nine holes but only 6 bolts. The pressure plate needs to be lined up the correct way and you dont put bolts in the raised part of the pressure plate housing you put them in the holes that will touch closest to the flywheel
