Too bad they keep whoring out the 4-Door. The coupe is 1000x better looking. Me thinks Honda is trying to compete with the STi and Evo 4D platforms. IMO it's not working.

Honda: Please bring back the coupe/hatch R! (just not the crappy EDM one).

The failure of the EP3 CTR and the EP3 Si in USDM left a really bad taste in their mouths.

Unfortunately, they seem to still not understand or behave as if they understand <u>why</u> the EP3 Si failed in the USDM. It had more to do with bang for the buck than anything else. 160 HP for $19,500 just wasn't cutting it, even if people accepted the McPherson upright design.

The lack of bang/buck made people focus on perceived issues that would not have been noticed at all if the car came with 200 HP.

I was just behind an Si 4 door this morning. Not as bad looking as I would have thought, though I think they should have stuck with the 2 door tail lights.

 

I don't think they have the Coupe, I believe it is limited to the U.S. and maybe Canada.

 

I agree. The 4 door Si tails look like crap.

^ I agree. I love my type R becuase its a hatch and its 10x sportier looking than the other 4 doors. they need to stop this family sports car crap!

 

I wonder why the daul exhaust? I guess I just didn't expect it from Mugen. I like the look of the car and as the others are saying it really does start to grow on you.

Personally i think the car looks great and it has the specs to back it up. However i dont know what Hondas deal is with taking Civics and trying to sell them for mid to upper $30k. The Mugen Si which were getting in the states starts at $28k if i remember correctly which seemed outrageous and now this one is looking at $37k from what ive read. Dont get me wrong, i love the car and the fact that they are limiting production to 300 is great but thats a shitton of money for a ~230hp car.

for some reason this does not interest me as much as the new regular CTR. the seats look cool. but come on, "RR"? makes me think cheap ricer APC knockoff crap.

Honda also makes bikes called the CBR600RR and CBR1000RR and no one ever complains about the amount of Rs in that name. Hell, Integra is a pretty silly, effeminate name if you think about it. Lancer? Impreza? All stupid. So who cares, really?

I want one of these so bad and I would pay the asking price without a second thought.

Dont get your panties in a bunch, it was JMO. I didnt say anything about the Civic name. I would think something like "Mugen Edition" would suffice. They didnt call the Mugen SI "Mugen SiSi" did they? How bout a "RRR" for the super duper uber Hype R version? "Triple R" for short. They are just going overboard with all this "R" BS and then they dont even offer it to us! And if they did its redonkulously expensive and if you want to shell out the dough for it more power to you. Personally I think its LAME

No panties here, I was just wondering why the car's name matters.

It laps Tsukuba faster than a V10-engined BMW. They could call it the N'SYNC Edition Civic for all I care, it's still a bad-*** machine and a steal at less than $40K USD.
