Will after market parts void my warinty?
This is my first "new" car. I had an old (1990) nisan hard body for 3 years that finaly gave out on me, so I decided to buy a new car. Any hoot I have never had to deal with a warinty before and I realy want to sqeez a few more horses out of my Fit, but I I don't want to loose the warinty on the car (Half the reason I bought it).
O and b/f any one says it, Yes I am Stupid.

Put it like this:
An intake won't void the warranty on your suspension and an exhaust won't ruin your warranty on your engine. If the part can't be traced to the malfunction, you SHOULDN'T have a problem.

that's pretty good advice.
i guess it would also depend on the dealership, if they wanted to be dicks or not.

Even if they wanted to, you could probably sue and recover court costs. Im pretty sure its law in most places that to void a warranty you have to be able to prove something caused the problem. Otherwise no one would ever have to honor any warranty.
New vehicle warranties have nothing to do with the dealer. The American Honda Motor Company(AHM), the warranty administrator, and the AHM regional representative call the shots. If you want to know what is covered by your warranty and what will void your warranty you need to read your sales contract and warranty info thoroughly and or contact the mentioned individuals/entities. Don't take anyone else's word for it. Period.

That's not even advice. (S)he was just telling them how the warranty thing worked, not advising them on anything.
Sorry I'm just bored working...

mattermat is right, read the contract. but when you buy the car, they should at least briefly go over some of that stuff. if you buy the car with intentions of putting aftermarket stuff on it, then it should throw red flags in your head...it did me and i asked questions. high flow intake = void powertrain warranty

I'm pretty sure it would only void your warranty if it was found to be the cause of the malfunction.

are you going to trust them to do a good job and tell you the truth? ...business or not, warranty, insurance...whatever it is, people do not like to pay for stuff like that and if there is anything on the car that is aftermarket, it is just going to give them a reason to screw you. what they tell you now may not be what they say after your engine is blowing oil. there is alot that goes into engineering of a car and if you change one component, it can have a snowball effect. i would say air intake is the top of the hill
