what r we missing trying to make 220 whp on a 1.8L?
Ok about a year ago i made 208whp on my 1.8l
with a stock head(stock port work)
-june 2
-with more time on the dyno i could have pulled out another 2-3whp
-my old setup 208whp

a few weeks ago we just finish my buddys car
we ended up makeing only 200whp.....(we were sure we would make at least 215whp)
what the hell!!!
-he has a portflow ported head
-skunk2 stg2 cams
my buddys set up 200whp
thanks 4 looking

Making 200+ whp on a 1.8L platform is a lot harder then people think.
A lot of the reason people think it is easy to do is due to the dynapack numbers introduced to them on honda-tech.

which JG intake manifold were you running on the 208 setup?
also, what was your reasoning behind using 550cc injectors on that

Making 220 whp with a 1.8 liter motor requires the exact right combination of parts. Starting with a good intake, a better than stock intake manifold, a very good head with the right cams properly timed, a good header and exhaust. + lots of tuning. Not to mention a well put together bottom end.
Port matched intake manifold to head? What header? What exhaust piping diameter are you running? What throttle body size? What is the static compression ratio? Intake restrictive at all? Intake intalled, I have heard filter on throttle body you loose power.

Don,
There is a guy near me that makes crank scrapers for alot of engines including Honda engines. I provided him with some Honda, vw and bmw engines for him to design around. He mentioned that you had done some testing and saw a couple percent gain throughout the rpm range on n/a b series stuff. Any truth to this?

whale ***** intake..
smsp/hytech headers..
2.5"-2.75" exhaust piping..
s2pro2 or s2s3 cams..
an oil change..
and maybe some 100 octane..
you said your ptc pistons are netting 13.5ish cr?

Its hard to get to 220whp...i was dissapointed with my 215WHP on a mustang dyno but now i know that those are healty numbers
220WHP on a dynapack is less harder to obtain people are telling me!!!

depends which dynapack.
b19coupe, who has posted in this thread used to have a 1.8 that made 22x at R&D if i recall correctly.
