Default Catalytic pressure

i was considering hollowing out my catalytic converter when a thought came to mind. I wondered if I would receive any benefit from doing so what so ever. I am running a JDM H22A with basic boltons I/H/E etc. In theory it seems to me that more flow is more power. However I have heard of negative issues occuring from the loss of back pressure. Is that a real issue? Or do I not have that to worry about? Will there be any gain? If so, I know most of you guys have already done it , so let me know how it worked out for you.

You'll gain a few peak hp, but you'll also gain a very loud and raspy exhaust tone, as well as fouler smelling exhaust
