I posted for the first time a few weeks back looking for advice on pricing and reliability of an '01 prelude I had test driven. Well its mine now and im definetely enjoying it. I live in the Scranton/WB area in PA and was wondering if there are any prelude owners near me who would be interested in checking it out and giving me some advice on what the car may need in the line of repairs or replacements to get it running its best. As I said in my first post , 250 miles ago there was a new auto trans put in under warranty and the car shifts smoothly with the exception of 1st-2nd at real low speeds. When i accelerate faster it shifts smoothly. More specifically I want to get a new set of headlights as the pair on the vehicle is fairly cloudy and from what I have read most do-it-yourself solutions are not permanent. What brand or style do you guys recommend ? Secondly Im looking for a new front drivers side floor mat in black. I did find a web site that sold the originals in other colors but the black is discontinued. Anybody know where I could get it. Even if i had to buy the whole set. Thanks for any advice you guys have.

 

Good luck on the floor mats. I think the only thing you can do it find a used set. That's what I had to do. I think your best bet with the headlights is to polish them because new ones will fade eventually. Not hard to do either.

 

i got black mats from ebay. i got them and they looked brand new, i think they might've been dyed though? i'm not sure. but you can't tell unless you look at the underside, which is really dark gray but not black

a new trans was put in under warranty, 250 miles ago, and having trouble shifting? what exactly does it do when shifting at slow speed?
