Need Help.
I'm new to this forum; however, I appreciate the fact that forums like this are available. Well I have a new 2007 Honda Civic Si Nighthawk Black Pearl with fog lights. I really love my Honda and it fun and practical. Small price to pay for premium gas when you have such a fun car. Well as soon as I go my "Si" the first question was how much for a turbo charger. Then reality hit me, $4,000 that without installation. So the next big modification I could do to hold me off until I save for some real horsepower is a cold air intake; however, I very skeptical in the sense that I do not want to mess the engine with water for 7 - 12 hp more. Even with the AEM air by-pass valve I'm still weary about doing it and figure I should probably wait for the turbo charger. AEM CAIs aren't even available for my "Si" from the little research I have done on the web. Any opinions or suggestions? Anyone modified their Honda with a CAI? Which one did you use? How much horsepower really gets tacked on? Do air by-pass valves really work? Well that pretty much my intro and questions.

injens cai fits your car. 2 and 4 doors.
unless your driving in alot of water, like 1-2ft puddles....... i wouldn't worry.
the amount of power gained is small, but neccesary in my opinion.
you can hit second alot better and the throttle response is a little better aswell.
look into getting a supercharger, i believe it will cost less than a turbo at this point and time.

A few years back SCC tested AEM's bypass valve and found that in order for it to be effective the filter must be complteley submerged in water. I dont know if there were any redesigns that corrected this but from what I've seen the bypass valves will not save your motor if you traverse a fair amount of water.
