SEARCHED ALREADY- NEED HELP! BRAKE PROBLEMS 1990 Integra HELP!!!!!!!
(1990 integra) ok so over the last two weeks this has been happening. at first it just happened for a second. Its grown to be worse and more often so im turning to you guys for help.
The brake light in the gauge cluster than comes on when the handbrake is up comes on when im driving. First off, NO the hand brake is NOT up even a little
just to clear that up. now i was wonder if maybe there is some kind of traction control/ stability management causing it to come on when i turn even a little hard, or take off faster than normal, say when there is a small break in traffic trying to pull out onto a busy street. and what happens is the light will come on and my car will start having power spikes. what i mean by that is when that light comes on, the acceleration quality/speed will decrease, and then after a couple of seconds its like someone flips a switch, and it kicks back in and takes off. It started off just when i would take a hard turn, say coming off the interstate on a tight off ramp or something, but now it seems like every little turn i take, or everytime i accelerate, it comes on and this happens!
So i guess what im trying to ask- is there some sort of electrical device that is automatically applying the brakes to my car when this happens that could be malfunctioning? Is it something else? How can i fix this?
Its quite annoying when im just trying to drive to work and this happens! Its also slightly affecting my gas mileage. not a lot, but enough to notice.....
i would very much appreciate some answers/ suggestions/ anything at all!!! Thanks guys

That light comes on when the sensor detects low brake fluid in the resovoir, hence it coming on when you take corners.Add some fluid and you should be fine
As far as the power spike,Id just do a basic tuneup like plugs, rotor, fuel filter, etc.

ok thanks both of you. i will do that tomorrow and see if that works- gotta make it to the milwaukee honda tech meet this weekend!
That solved the abs light problem! But i still have to fo the plugs, filters, blah blah blah THANKS
Check fuel pump/pressure regulator/fuel filter and also the igniter, coil, and distributor cap, also could be the main relay as well, they're known to act a fool !
