How can i bump my oil pressure for my turbo setup???

How can i bump my oil pressure for my turbo setup???
for a LS Vtec turbo setup is it neccessary to bump oil pressure...ive heard that the vtec scavenges oil from the turbo when running this setup and have heard of people porting and shimming oil pumps......what can i do or is there any truth to this.......
