The motor ran fine when it was in my friend car, but it doesn't idle normal after I swap it in my car. The rpm is moving up and down from 7-10 rpm. I just clean out the throttle body yesterday, it didn't work. I will try cleaning the IAC today or tomorrow. Anyone, have a clue? The car ran nice and strong when I drove it, but it dies out when I slow down on a stop, but will start up with no problem. With no symptom, no MIL. The only thing I did is water pump, tensioner, timing belt, thermostat and clutch before I droped in the motor. Please help.. any advice will help

 

check the fasit idle throttle valve. located right under the throttle body..i believe newer models dont have it only the earlier 90s tegs.

 

what is the best way to check the fast idle valve working correctly?

 

Anyone? Also, warms up normal, but after warm up my idle does not stay steady? why? No overheat, run nice and strong, but it dies when it comes to a stop . why?

 

what ecu are you running?

 

95 OBD1 LS... I took the whole motor out of a running car and swap everything over to my EG

 

The car is not hard idling no more after cleaning the IAC, but it idles at 1200 rpm after warm up. Can that be the fast idle valve?
