Default Best ITR engine?

I was wondering if someone could explain the differences between the 97/98/00/01 USDM versions of the ITR engines to me.

I'm trying to purchase an ITR motor, and not sure which one I should go for.

Very very slight difference in the cam profile from 97-98 to 00-01.

Nothing you will notice though.

now if it were JDM vs USDM, that would be different.

Quite right.

Check VIN tag is in place, and check VIN's before purchasing.

Through the years, no ITR engines aren't much different USDM speaking.

With the JDM ones, you get a different header and different FD with the 98+ engines. But then again, that's if you get a swap, vs. just the engine.

So, considering I buy a b18c5. It doesn't really matter what year it is, if I get it tuned and an after market header?

Try searching, this is a popular discussed topic. I remember a particular thread a few months ago, comparing all years. Including the JDM variants.

i think a 00-01 would be a better investment. newer motor, better cams. the 00-01 cams are the same as the CTR cams. I have read they are infact noticably better. do i have personal experience, no but just sharing my findings. you should do some more research on the two.

The difference is simple...

S
E
A
R
C
H

It's all there.

Sure, there are those that spout out sometimes...

But look further and look for the pattern...

To answer your original question, yes gears if you get the trans as well (well, more the 4.7 FD) AND the OEM JDM 1 piece 4-1 header.
