I never hear much talk about k series on here. Post up some pics and show us what you got!

 

I think they got one already.

 

i search can't find one i never seen anyone have much of anything on the k series. Most people say go to k20.org or w/e that forum is. This is honda tech though not everything honda except k series.

 

We are almost done with ours so hopefully we will post our dynosheet real soon.

 

throw up some specs . I am going to get my tsx swap tomorrow and wanted to see what kind of other setups people are running

One thing I never understood, is....why? I am not the know all of K, but I know my fair share of B. I look at dyno charts and I don't understand the reason why to spend so much more money.

Someone enlighten me?

just because you can say you have a k in your car. thats not as common as a b/d now a'days. and if your are boosted, then you are a real panty dropper.

IMO, id rather just stick with a b, if i was gonna go turbo, but if i was going full out track car, i might as well go k24/20 yesssssssss i know. a whole chit load of money

What B is to D, K is to B.

Not to mention the numbers K's can make completely stock.

By the time it's all said and done it's all expensive anyway. But at least with a K you get a lighter motor with a better flowing head.

My question to you is, why not?

 

K series are much more efficient than the B, K, H, or F series engines. For example, Hondata has made 260whp on a bone stock NA K20a2 motor with just bolt-ons. Try and do that with a B series and have it last without having to replace every single thing in it.

As far as FI is concerned... they do very well with boost... especially stock. I've ditched my H series set-up and went K series as well. Once you go K... you don't go back

 

He was just saying you can build a turbo B series w/ the same power numbers with alot less money. Thats why someone wouldn't buy a k. Its all about the green.

I understand that. Another member asked why people go with a K swap and I let them know why... because it is a much more complex and efficient motor. They are the future.

last time i checked 600whp/400tq is 600whp/400tq whether is a B, a K, an H or a john deere.

yeah its even better than itself!!!! j/k

on the hondata "stock" engine, yeah most likely on a gay *** high reading dyno i can get 200 whp sooo easily out of a stock bore b16 in a high reading dyno round here... that i would make omniman blush

Except in a B you actually have a tranny that isn't a POS for drag racing.

 

I am sorry, I didn't mean for my question to turn into a pissing contest for a B vs K. My whole thing was that dyno sheets I saw, they had the same HP/TQ difference as a B. I didn't see a big boost in TQ as I was hoping.

By all means, I would never say K is bad, but from my point of view, (a budget builder) I will keep the K series for the people who got the green. But a K series looks sexy in EG

Also, I know stock they perform very well, I have seen 500+ on stock turbo k20's, which is majorly impressive.

you can find those K dyno sheets here and there but i'd like to see a stock B16 with IHE and a Hondata make anywhere close to 260whp . thing is...making a B16 make that can make close to 260 at the wheels...you're definitely not in stock form on the engine anymore, you're gonna have to actually do some serious wrenchin and at least pull the head.

 

lets keep this on topic and not get in to a pissin match of k vs the world i just want to see some high hp builds. Yes k is a poo load of money but they have not been here long give them time and people will work out the kinks. b series just the last 3 years have gotten really fast.. The whole sport has.. eaither way if you have comments about what someone says keep it to pm.. If you have a Nice FI or all motor K setup post up some specs and pics to get us all inspired

 

The only real difference I see would have to be in stock form. Stock for stock the k series has the advantage over the b, but once they are built they seem to put down very similar numbers.
