i'm having a guy fabricate/weld my charge piping, and i'd like it all to be black eventually. i plan on starting with an ebay diy kit, like this:

question: is it possible to weld piping that is powdercoated?

 

yes its possible. you just have to grind off all the powdercoating first

 

for the record... that piping sucks! to clean, to weld... just overall.

 

well to make it easier on my welder dude, i'm just going to start with something similar, but unfinished.

bigtom, you mean the powdercoated piping sucks, or ebay piping in general? i figgered aluminum was aluminum.....

I would go with cxracing on ebay for the same price http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...06416, all pieces appear to be good quality. Someone recommended them to me and their quality and customer service is good. I ordered $100 of extra clamps, pipes, connectors and 7 clamps were the wrong size but Kevin was quick to fedex the correct ones to me.

 

both look like the same crap to me. try either one and let us know how it works out. im sure it will work just depends on how picky you are about it.
