H22A motor- any difference in auto or manual ?
Just picked up an h22a but had no idea it came off an auto car. Is there any difference in the motor itself (besides the flywheel) compared to if it was from a manual ? IE: cams, valvtrain, CR, ?
thanks
Both of my JDM H22A's are from Autos....I actually prefer them and demand them when buying/sourcing motors. Why you ask? Chances are the motor has taken less abuse. When people attempt to beat on Auto engines, the trans takes most of the abuse instead.
From what I remember the only difference is a smaller throttle body on auto motors.

ok cool thank you !! i really appreciate it.
I ask because i purchased an h22a for an h2b swap i am doing and when it arrived the tag said h22 auto . I just wanted to make sure that the motors were the same.
And now that i think about it, your logic makes quite a bit of sense since you do see less people beating on auto trans!!! thanks again

I even went so far as to check part numbers and it appears to be a sure thing.
Auto 5th gens and Manual 5th gens have different P#'s for throttle body.
No 4th gen VTEC Auto here, but the Auto Si/H23 and Manual Si/H23 ALSO have different part numbers.
When I did my swaps, I used the USDM Manual throttle body on one and had a 70mm STR that I used on the other.
IIRC the difference is 2mm between auto/manual.
Not going to make a huge difference on near stock setups IMHO.
Maybe look into an ITR or S2k TB swap if you want to....

you must be illiterate...
Honda prelude (the vehicle in question) automatics (refers to the type of transmission) in (refers to location) japan (east Asian nation where all preludes are made) and other parts of the world (additional nations where Honda sent this assortment) fitted (refers to what's in the engine bay when it leaves the factory) with an H22 (a type of engine) are rated at (measured output) more ps (pferdestärke) than (in comparison to) Honda Accord (another vehicle from the same manufacturer) automatics (type of transmission again retard) equipped (furnished with) with the same engine (h22)
one of these reason is related to the tables and controls set in the car's control module or ECU/ECM
if you were this attentive to your own affairs
maybe you wouldn't have been "scammed by shutta"

When I bought my JDM H22 longblock from hmotors it came with a smaller tb than what was on my h23. It also had the extra hardware for a second throttle cable? that I think is found on autos. I had to send it and the im back because they came in smashed but they sent me an obd1 tb that matched the size of my obd2 tb. It would make sense that their long blocks are mostly autos if they use the standards for complete changeovers.
But I was able to bolt my obd2 h23 flywheel and tranny to it with no problems and it is running great now.
