Default Store it or Sell it?

I'm at a point where I hardly drive the teg. My teg used to be that "cool high school car" that I drove everyday. Now its that "cool high school car" that sits in my parents' garage while my *** is studying at the U for a year.

My parents own the car and don't want to insure the car anymore because i'm not home to drive it , hence storing it for the school year (wasting money on insurance, basically) So, I have the option to store it at the end of this summer until next summer (a year essentially) or just sell it while it still retains its value (which i need help pricing)

here are the specs on the car:

Acura Integra LS 1994 ~93000mi
Clean Title
Adult owned
Milano red (bright red, not milano pink)
Black interior
Timing belt changed @ 90k
Oil changes every 5k

Injen short ram intake
DC Sports ceramic 4-2-1 header
Apexi World Sport II exhaust
Tokico HP blue shocks
Eibach Pro-Kit
Rota Slipstream Black 15" /w Falken Azenis (spiderweb tread)
Steelies with 95% tread tires
Integra Type R 23mm rear swaybar
Megan Racing front upper strut bar
Megan Racing rear upper strut bar
Sylvania Silverstars (lowbeams and highbeams)

Type R replica spoiler
Replica optional sideskirts
Replica Red Acura emblem
Painted side moldings

Alpine MP3 deck CDA-9853
Infinity Reference front speakers
Alpine iPod adaptor

I'm taking off that front lip. It was a experiment that didn't turn out so well.

Whats a realistic price for this car? I was thinking 6500-7000, cause thats what i want, but probably not going to get. You guys know clean integras better than anyone, so maybe you can help me, either storing it for a long time or selling it. Thanks HT.

If you really want the car, store it.

are you graduating next year? id say sell it... your not gettin any use out of it now anyways so it will only go down in value... plus by the sound of it, your kinda tired of driving around in your "high school" car... as far as price goes, I would ask for 5 and take around $4500. Id be lucky if I got 7K for my 98 GSR.

In the Seattle area he could get 5 I'm sure, and you could probably get 7 for your 98 GSR (around here I mean - I know nothing about the market in NJ)

sell it since the older it gets, the less its worth.... also, not sure how much integra's are selling for in your area but your better off taking off all the aftermarket parts and selling it, and then selling the integra as a stock LS. Once it's stock, expect to get around $3800-5000 for it.

i agree as well ^ ^ ^

part your after market stuff, bring it back to bone stock if you kept your parts.. sell it, then sell your parts... but if you dont have your stock parts.... you got to find a kid! just got his lics. scrap the lip and the side skirts someone might consider picking it up cuz the body looks good still GL

KBB says for private party, in this area (seattle), just kept default options, 93k miles....
Condition Value

Excellent $5,235
Good $4,775
Fair $4,210

cool thanks. I would not have any problems parting ways with my project car. I dont plan on putting any more money into it, and I always fear the day it will be stolen, so selling it may be the best. as far as stock parts, I did keep them. so is that the best way to get the most money out of it?

I would say keep it and enjoy it when you come back.

But since you're over it, put it back to stock. Sell the car and sell the aftermarket parts. You make a definite profit.

i would say so.... you sell it bone stock to someone who is looking for a DC2 with a clean shell that still runs... there are no assumptions that you smashed on the car or that it was ever fixed up... its less to think about.... then try selling your aftermarket parts on HT or craigslist or whatever.. OR you FIND that young buyer whos just getting into cars and encourage the aftermarket parts, like the car is halfway done.. and only needs little work to make it the ****. i would really push for option 1... bone stock. more people will look for that.. scrap that lip and them sideskirts tho. maybe the wing if you have the stock, cuz plugged holes. are yeah GL homie...

is the teg payed off?

is it your only car?

if its payed off and you have multiple cars on you insurance it might be a lot cheaper too drop it down to liability insurance than it would be to take it off completely.

when i added a second car it lowered my insurance about 500 for the year..when i added a third anothe ~400.. all insurance companies are different but most offer multi car discounts

if i were to take say one of my cars off insurance would be killing me with my bad record

I'd say keep it for a few reasons.
1) clean gsr's are rare nowadays and will get more rare as days pass. Clean i mean clean title and body etc.
2) if you sell now you'll prob get 5 grand for it but I can bet you anything you can drive it for another 5-10 years and put 190k on the motor and it'll still sell for 3k easily. So if you do some math, you'll lose 2k for putting in another 100k miles and having the fun car for another 5-10 years.
