Default clicky clicky click

I have a 1990 honda accord 2 door and when i turn and accelerate my passenger side tire lets of a clicky clicky sound. When im going straight it is fine. What could this be? Im thinking cv joints? Also i am recieving some squealing and sounds coming from the tire on that same side. What are the symptoms of a bad bearing or a bad strut? Thanks!

You are thinking correctly about the clicky clicky click. Check for a broken open CV boot.

Bad wheel bearing will give a roaring noise at speeds and the noise will change if you steer different directions

Bad struts will have fluid puked out all over them and the car will bounce like a pogo stick over humps/bumps.

You sure it's the tire making noise? Swaybar bushing maybe?

well i dont know if the bushel is bad. I know that the boot is broken open. I ordered a haynes maual and am pretty good at fairly easy car maintence. Is the cv boot something that i could fix? Any special tools that you know i might need?

yeah it's most likely your cv boot/axle.. depending on bad will determine whether or not you need to change the whole axle.

You want to change both axels at once. (basically the theory is .. once one goes .. the other is on its way out the door). So get two new ones and your good for a long time. You can get Auto Zone ones if you dont race and are on a tight budget. Otherwise I recommend OEM remanufactured replacements from Honda.

if the CV joint is going "clicky clicky click" it's bad, replace the axle with a reman unit from the parts store.

I would only replace the axle with the split open boot and bad CV joint.
