I bought a jdm front bumper and lip from 99_dc2 from the forsale item on honda-tech. In the description, he said the front bumper has 2 cracks but front lip is in excellent condition. I paid for them and when I received them, the front bumper is what he said it is but the front lip is damage(in my eyes they are). I told him about it and showed him pix of it.

It has big scraps on both sides, paint stress cracks, and paint flakes. He keeps arguing saying that that lip is in excellent condition. I keep saying it's damaged. And he will NOT do anything about it. He said what do you except from used items. I went and got an estimate to see how much it'll cost to repair and paint it. I'll get it in a bit and post the cost. Am I wrong or is the front lip really in excellent condition?

^ x2.
Looks EXACTLY like my lip that I bought from a member on here... In which, cltitus described it as being "Pretty banged up, and will DEFINATELY need a full repaint." So I was expecting it to arrive in said condition.

how much more road rash can you get without completely smashing the lip? thats as far from excellent condition as it gets. your right, id be pissed if he sold the lip as in "excellent condition".

My thoughts exactly.
How much did you pay for it? How much should this have sold for?

O I was pissed. I told him that. I paid 250 shipped for it(front bumper and lip). I'm thinking it's a good price IF the lip is in excellent condition like he said. I wouldn't pay more than a $100 for the front bumper and lip in this condition. I left the estimate to have it fixed at work. But I remember the cost around 350 for repair and paint. I'm paying more to fix the lip than the cost to get the lip and bumper. I dunno what i'm gonna do about this.

I hate when terms get tossed around out of context. http://webster.com/dictionary/excellent
But I see it happen far to often in the Trade forums.
In your case you have been wronged by the seller.

thats the first thing I thought about when i opened the package. I should've asked for close up quality pix of it. I still kick myself in the butt for not doing so.

Haha, I'm sure George H would disagree with that statement.

Communication with him was good. He'd always respond the questions, etc... Just sucks that he can't tell the difference between excellent condition and damage. I guess I have no choice but to fix it. thumbs down for that seller.
