i posted this in the suspension forum, but it sucks in there.
i need to replace one rear lca bushing on my 96 civic. i need the one that connects the control arm to the trailing arm. i've called honda and they say the only one they sell is the shock mount bushing. i've looked online and cant seem to find the one i need. anybody know where to get one?

 

idk why honda wouldnt have it. id say look for a foriegn auto parts dealer. or you could buy aftermarket contol arms witch have all the bushings in them. theyre about $100 for both lca's im sure the bushing would be $25 or so.

 

i'm selling the car, going back to stock. and want to spend as little as possible. aftermarket lca's are out of the question

Honda tried selling me all new LCA Screws (6) for 12 bucks for one. Forget that. Sometimes your better off going for aftermarket items rather than OEM. For instance, Blox LCA. Cheep 100$, good looking, and strong.

Are you going to have a shop press these in and out? If so, it'll cost as much in parts and labor as it would to just get new LCAs from eBay. You can get them for as little as $75 shipped, so I'd do that if I were you.

If you're stuck on replacing that one bushing yourself, you can either get an energy suspension or prothane kit for the LCA body-and-trailing arm mounts or you can just order the proper bushing from your local Honda dealer. If they say they can't, they're full of ****. The inner and outer bushings are smaller diameter than the strut mount bushing and they can indeed order them.

 

i've got access to a 100 ton press, so that wont be a problem. but the car is being sold and i've already spent a grip replacing **** and don't want to spend more than i have to. that being the reason for wanting to replace the single bushing, and nothing more

 

If you're not willing to go to the nearest Honda dealership and have them bring up the suspension diagram/schematic so that you can order the part, you can buy a bushing from an EG control arm - part number 86604 - instead.

It's number 12 in the 92 - 95 Civic rear lower arm diagram. It should work just fine.

 

Yeah, I got all my bushings from a Honda dealer. A good parts supplier should have them relatively cheap. Watch out for Honda bolts though. If it's not an odd shape or size, just go to a local hardware store and get some grade 8 fine thread metric bolts and nuts.

I paid over $120 for 13 bolts on my old car. Last time I ever bought a fastener from Honda.

i got some LCA for 80 bucks shipped and they were brand new, they work perfectly
