Default swap question

i'm doing the mpfi swap on my old 89 dx and i have everything hooked up like the instructions in the faq say. but my question is that in the instructions it says that pin B10 and B12 are empty but there is a green w/red in B10 and a yellow w/green in the B12. why? secondly it says that the wire from pin C2 is white, but according to my manaul it is yellow. any help would be great

the problem is with how you are counting the pins - some manuals counted consecutively across each row, i.e. 1,2,3,4,5,6,etc. on the top row and 11,12,13,14,etc. on the bottom row - other manuals alternated numbers between rows so that top row was odd numbers (1,3,5,7,etc.) and bottom row was even numbers (2,4,6,8,etc.) - the accepted practice now with so many guides out there is to use the odd numbers on top and even on the bottom - connector 'A' is the largest and connector 'C' is the smallest - if you count the pins following the odd even routine you will find that what you are calling B10, everyone else calls B19 and what you are calling B12, they call B4 - using your method you would use pins B15 for B10 and B16 for B12 - as for the C2, are you sure you aren't looking at connector 'B'? - it has a yellow wire at B3 or what you would call 2 - there are no plain yellow wires at the 'C' connector unless you had a CRX HF which would have a yellow at C8 for the EGR valve

your counting your pins wrong, just search and you'll find the proper way to identify the pin numbers.
