CEL Question...
Before i start, i just wanted to say that yes, i did search this but couldn't find the answer i was looking for.
my CEL light came on yesterday, no flashing. it just stayed on. i drove the car home and looked under the hood. everything seemed copasetic, again that was yesterday.
today i drove about 5 miles and the light came on again, no flashing as before..just steady illumination.
i turned the car off and the light disappeared, it later came on again. so i just parked it, i dont wanna expletive anything up beyond the "i-can-see" view.
now, this has happened before with other lights, such as my srs, and my rear brake light (as in after i put in the bulb it lit up on the cluster) and those lights eventually stopped lighting up.
but i can't ignore a CEL, that's just a retard move. so how do you get the codes, or should i just go to the dealership (i work at mazda and the owner of the stores also owns a honda dealership) and diagnostic = free.
insight please, and thank you.

You can use a bent paperclip to jumper that plug.
Beginning in '96 they're all OBD-2, so if you had a newer car you could simply use an OBD-2 scanner at your Mazda shop.
