Toda Valvesprings - Egg Shaped..
I recently acquired Toda valvesprings from a friend. When I received them, I noticed that the springs were round, and not egg shaped as Toda springs are said to be. I trusted my friends word, but was kinda confused and disappointed. I cleaned them up and noticed that they were tighter coiled on one end, which Toda springs are. I also realized that the spring material itself is wider than it is tall, which makes me think that is what they mean by being egg shaped. Is this correct, is that what they meant that they are egg shaped? I used a digital micrometer and measured the height and thickness, which were 3.12mm and 3.94mm respectively.. Here are some pictures of what I am talking about. What do you think? Real Toda springs?

3.94mm wide..

Yes, I believe thats what they mean by it being "egg shaped" If the spring was egg shaped from looking from above, then how would it fit the spring seat or how would the retainer fit?
