Nobody mentions it because it's a project and a half, comparable to the K20 swap in terms of complexity.

I twas a civic or accord wagon or some **** in Europe or Japan or some **** like that, you g2 get all the parts and retrofit them.

EDIT:
If you search you can find past topics about it and more specific reasons on what it came on and why it's not mentioned a lot.

EDIT2:
AWD is a bitch to do, my friend has a 509ci (8.3L) big block chevy in his pickup and he made it AWD from rear wheel drive stock, and he had A LOT of fabricating to do to make those front wheels spin. A LOT of welding, cutting, etc. The civic's a bit easier because you can get the parts and retrofit them (you don't have to make your own parts) but it's still a major pain in the ***.

Though it had promising results - most don't in terms of pricing, easiness, and ESPECIALLY reliability.

those awd civics only had like an 80/20 split. not performance oriented in any sense of the word.

x2.

Much cheaper to just stick with fwd. In the end it will be fast/handle better as it was in it's stock configuration.

Yeah, I noticed that in the burnout vid. It's more a "push out" deal if a soccer mom gets stuck in snow.

Yes there were stock 4WD Civics.

In the US they came as the Wagovans.

In Japan they came as 4WD 5th and 6th gen Civic sedans.

As said before, it's not performance oriented like a WRX or anything. There have been theories that the drivetrain might not stand up to a lot of modification/abuse.

Too much of a pain in the *** for too little return.

Actually the Honda AWD system only sends 10% of the power to the rear wheels...
