crx hood cable isnt tight enough to push the ball at the end of the cable . its conected inside the crx and to the hood latch but its not tense enough, how to i tighten this up and get rid of the slack???

 

if you find it to be just stretched, go to honda and buy a new one, they are cheap (20$ or so) and you get everything, the lever and the cable right to the hood!
mine was stretched, i would have to pull it all the way as hard as i could and hit the hood for it to open. then i installed a fresh one right out of the package and it was like i was popping a hood of a 2007 honda, just a nice crisp pop with pleanty of slack unused. really nice, i highly recommend replacing it.

 

you can adjust the cable underneath the dash, right where you pull it.

it's got like 3 'settings'....pull the assembly further back towards the engine bay & reconnect it, should take up the slack.

If there is still too much slack there has to be a way to rig it too work. Make it tight and use some sort of cable clamp so the slack doesn't go back out.
