Header for 97 dx
All right just got back from buying a 97 dx coupe low miles no rust and best of all cheap and I know that the cat is part of the header and last time I had to deal with this problem was in 98 and they didn't make a header for it then.... so does anyone know a good header for it and does anyone know if I can put my 95 vtec motor in it with the tranny from the 97 I have more questions about parts that may carry over I will ask later, thanks
Been there, done that. any D-series header fits, but keep in mind your putting on a higher flow header, along with removing the cat, so it will make your car significantly louder.
What you can do is to get any catback and a highflow (or OEM civic EX) cat for a 96-00 civic, and that will bolt right up fine, keeping your exhuast within reasonable noise levels, and best pwr/trq gains.
Yes you can swap your 95 VTEC motor in, but you will need to get an OBD1 ecu, jumper, and new wiring harness, since the Y7's is not only not wired for VTEC, but its IACV is a 3plug, where as any other honda motor's is two plug.
