Dog for adoption, very urgent
UPDATE:
Due to someone being extremely rude to Hailey's potential new mom, the dog was put to sleep today.
To make a long story short, a dog (Hound mix) that is up for adoption at my work (dog boarding and training facility) is going to be put to sleep this Friday if she does not find a home. She has had a lot of training at my work, and everyone on the staff loves her. Unfortunately we all already own a couple of dogs each on average, and none of us can take her home.
Her previous owners drove all the way from Oregon to adopt her.
Her name is Hailey, she is a great dog that loves her "people." She is very well-trained, but also extremely protective. Let me emphasize the EXTREMELY part. She will go after anyone that she feels is a threat to her family. The head trainer says that she doesn't seem to be able to live with other dogs, cats, or kids.
If you have a quiet home, or know somebody that lives alone and would like to have a very protective and dedicated dog, please, please, PLEASE give this girl a chance. I have worked around her everyday for the last month or two, and I hate to imagine her being put down. Indeed she can be aggressive but that is part of her protective nature, and of her need to guard those she loves.

As you can see in the video I included, she is very intelligent and playful.
EDIT: One thing I should add is that since she has been trained at our facility, whoever owns her will have "UNLIMITED follow up visits for the life" of Hailey. Meaning, as long as she is alive you can take her back over and over and over to have private meetings and sessions with the trainers there.
If Hailey does not find the right home by Friday, she will be put down. If you are interested, please send me a message or call this number: (425) 486-9567

Thanks for the bump, can always count on fellow LS-T people for help.

Yeah, other dogs may pose a problem. She gets along great with the other dogs here (she is even sharing her kennel with some), but once she gets attached to her family she tries to defend them against others.

Because of how protective she is. She is extremely protective of her masters which made it hard because they couldn't have other dogs, rowdy kids, etc over.
Like I said in the message, they can give you the whole scoop on her tomorrow when you call.

Protective Dog = Security for car at home
Adopting is the only way to go when it comes to getting a dog. I'd inquire but I have a dog and two cats already. Bump for a good home!

Exactly.
A dog like Hailey that will guard her family with her life is even more valuable than having a gun in some cases.
We actually just had a dog with a very similar personality (a 1 year old German Shepherd) who was close to being put to sleep until somebody adopted him for the perfect job - to guard and protect a car yard.
We were all happy to see him end up going to a good cause.
Thanks for the bumps guys.

I would take her but I have 2 dogs already..........one of which is an EXTREMLY protective german shepard.
Just because a dog is protective dosent mean they dont make great pets. You just have to be a little more aware of the suroundings like if you bring new people over to your house etc.
My dog is friendly, smart and just an awsome all around dog. But he is also the kind of dog that would die trying to protect me or my g/f................which I prefer over a dog that would lick an burgler to death.
Hope she finds a good home!
