I cannot find one good conditon teg around. Im going to lose my mind. IS it where i live??? whats going on here.
Should i just take a nice civic 5 spd there all over the place???
I dont get it everyone says "$4500 will get you a teg for suree" then i go to look and there is nooooone. I LOOKED EVERYWHEREEE!
I fell in love with them and now i'm heartbroken....DAmnnnnn

your in PA, which (compared to CT) is a pretty big place.. there are plenty of tegs out there in PA, and jersey, which is right next door if i know my geography... now dont go ahead and buy the first teg you see in your price range. make sure its not an abused orphan.

since when would someone need a swap if they have an LS. sure a gsr is a much better start but an LS has plenty potential. and if it blows they are MUCH cheaper to replace than a gsr

I gotta agree with this guy, LS is a great starting point and if you come into some extra cash in the future LS/VTEC with a bulit bottom will blow away any GSR engine. Or if you wanna turbo you can turbo it just as easy as a GSR engine. I dont know why all these people think that you HAVE to have a GSR or your teg is ****. Just look for a clean unmolested teg in your price range and work with what you got.

I picked my GSR up for $6000 with 150K miles on it. Spent a month looking for one before finding it. Even with 150K it ran great and I enjoyed driving it more than my friends LS. What type of teg are you looking for, DA or DC? I'm guessing a DC cause you can pick DA's up for a lot cheaper than $4500? Just keep looking, don't settle on a civic if you really want an integra.

Might as well get a Teg shell and put in a SOHC motor. I mean, either has potential, and both start off sucking huge ****. Its also EVEN cheaper than a LS to replace.

Alright, idk why your trieng to bash on LS motors. Ls motors arent bad. They have ALOT of potential like any other motor
Tegs dont need H22s to be fast.......
Also to the OP, just keep looking, one will pop up for a good deal. Dont rush it

Heh, I bought my 94 GSR Teg with a SOHC ZC in for $1500. Dude blew the motor, sold the trans and ploped in a ZC. Slow but the chassis is in good condition. Been getting all the parts I need to put a B motor back in it.

youre an idiot if youd compare an LS to a SOHC. an LS in any car would walk a single cam in the same car. an LS has just as much potential as any B series. LS turbos can have seen up to around 300whp safely on stock internals. get an internally stock gsr and boost that and guess what? youre on the same level so you just wasted that $3k+ on a gsr swap. if you really have the money than yea a gsr is a better start but an LS can easily be worked with also. sounds like if you had a choice of an LS swap or a sohc swap youd rather rock the sohc. to each his own though.

No they dont. But I runs 12's no turbo, completely stock longblock. Like to see an LS do that. ANY part I put in my car will make it faster than it is, and its not even cracked open.
Hell, my car is GSR so that motor wasnt ****...</TD></TR></TABLE>
now this i have to see. COMPLETELY STOCK motor? h22 teg? ive yet to see a hatch with a stock h22 swap break 12s.

just keep looking bro.
you'll find a good deal, and yes the ls motor has plenty of potential, but i heard that if you go turbo on stock internals you wont be able to up the boost much is this true?

Jay Smith huh?
just gotta keep looking, I bought my GS-R 6 years ago with 89K on it, now it has 253K on it and it's still going strong.

its quick no doubt but i wouldnt say its "damn near" 11s. its doing mid 12s.

Stock as in no pistons, cams, headwork, no aftermarket intake manifold. Oh, its full of bolt ons, juiced, tuned, LSD and the whole 9 yards. But what I'm sayin is by the time a LS can hit these times, it needs to be fully built, which mine is not
Just retort to the guy that said Tegs dont need H22 to be fast.</TD></TR></TABLE>
now thats believable but if he were to do an h22 swap it would cost just as much as a rebuild for an LS or he could do an ls/vtec and itd be even better than having a gsr.

just get out of the honda-scene, i tried it and it went ba., tickets, and people trying to steal yo **** FTL...get a sr20det 240 and you'll be happy, that's what im doing
Don't give up in your search man, patience is the key. I looked for my teg for months. I wanted a gs-r but i couldn't pass up the special edition I found, and I ended up boosting it and its better than i could have ever expected! It's putting down 253Whp, all stock motor, running 9 psi.

hey I might be selling my SSBP GSR really soon... it has some minor body damage to the rear quarter panel, but besides that the car is in good shape for a 98... how much would you be willing to spend... its got around 135K on the engine and it still runs strong.
