how do you tell when the cat converter is bad?

Exhaust smells like rotten eggs, not even a joke, it smells bad. Also, you exhaust may sound a little bit raspier if your cat has hollowed itself out.

measure the temp from the front and back with a infared thermometer. should be 100 degrees or hotter on the back side.
