Default Welding and shaving engine bay

Im getting ready to start on my project, of tucking and shaving my engine bay, i was wondering if a mig welder would be sufficient for this job? (Welding small bolt holes, nothing major) I have not bought a welder yet, so any advice would be helpful on what would be the better buy, and any pointers on this would be helpful to.Thanks
