Main relay clicks uncontrolably, possible ecu problem?
I am having so many problems with my gsr swap! When I turn the key to "on" my relay clicks on and off rapidley and wont stop. Is this a problem with my computer or the relay itself? I am getting fuel pressure still.
The relay did not do this, then I started switching my dizzy pins and then it did this,. I put my pins back to stock and it still is going crazy. I am worried I fried thwe ecu or something and it cant control the relay.
It is a rywire chiped po6 running an obd1 gsr. I am having so many problems and im just wondering if when I repined the dizzy jumper harness if it shorted the ecu or something? I tried unpluging my dizzy and then turning the key to on and the relay is still going crazy.

call ryan he'll help you out. i dont think you were supposed to repin your dizzy if you bought a jumper. unless you meant ecu jumper. becuase ecu jumpers from rywire are pinned differntly then dist jumpers from other companies
So - here's his setup that he sent me in email:
Si harness repaired - we changed the injector clips to OBD1, block-off plug and fan switch wiring too.
He had a Locash ECU Jumper and distributor adapter.
Going off what we consider to be normal OBD0 to OBD1 distributor adapter pinouts he saw that the Locash Distributor adapter has 4 wires in the wrong spots - That's how it's supposed to be because the ECU jumper changes the same 4 wire positions.
So repinning the distributor adapter will definitely make it not work. - unless you're using our ECU jumper.
As for the main relay clicking. That's either a bad ground somewhere (thermostat housing) or a dead battery. Not a ECU problem. Don't expect the ECU to be functioning like normal because when the main relay clicks - thats it turning off power to the fuel pump and ECU.
Talk to ya soon man, left ya voicemial!

Thanks peter! I just checked my phone and messages and I dont have any calls from you. I threw the battery on the charger when I got home at 3:30 and I just turned the car on it the relay still was switching on and off fast. I cycled the key a few times and it stoped. Now it sounds kind of like a low growling from the relay. I dont have time to work on the car tonight but im wondering if the relay is going bad? My batt voltage is 12.7 and all my grounds are good and tight. The only reason I was thinking it was the ecu was because this just happened all of a sudden. Tomorrow im going to try and pin it back to how locash had it except the #7 wire is now in the correct spot. Locash had the #7 on the distributor adapter going to the empty hole in the connector.

THE CAR RUNS! I did not work on it last night after work. I got home from work today and worked on one of my motercycles. I looked at the clock and still had an hour before my girlfriend gets home. I start looking over the car and figure why not just pin the obd1 connector on my obd0 harness to get rid of the stupid jumper. I do that ( and I never relised how easy it was!). I go to start it and nothing. I go to check my ecu codes and I dont get any flash at all. I check my ecu fuse and it was blown! I replaced the fuse and it fired right up. I have a couple small issues but this thing should be driving in the next few days! Thanks everyone, rywire and locash!
