im looking for a hood for my buddys 99 accord. His paint color is YR508M which is a sort of tan color.

This guy told me he has a 99 accord hood and its a goldish tan color.

Im wondering what the different paint colors were in 99 and if there was anything similar to this cars color or if its a safe bet that these will match. Any help would be appreciated.

and yeah painting it isnt a problem. but how sweet would it be if it was already the right color.

I looked up paint colors on paintscratch.com
and it looks like there are a few that could look similar.
theres champion white
taffeta white
satin silver metalic
rasin pearl
and then heather mist metalic which this car is.

its hard to tell on this sites little swatches. my buddys car looks sort of gold/ tan in the sun. anyone know if any of these colors look gold or tanish?

 

im assuming the whites dont look gold or tan soo hopefully i have a 1 in 3 shot haha.

I was under the impression only 96/97 Special Editions came in that color

 

thats what the paint code in the door matches up to be YR508M = heather mist

 

i guess its more of a silver than tan thou

interesting, didn't know that, i'll have to look at my color code on my car, I was under the impression it was strictly one of the "anniversary colors" in the 96/97 model year - it's a gold/silver

i think i've only ever seen 2 gold-type colors in the 98-02 gen, i would say you'd be fine

If you go to Edmunds.com you can see a list of colors for the various years. Just the names though, not color swaths. In ’99, the available exterior colors were:

Dark Emerald Pearl
Flamenco Black Pearl
Heather Mist Metallic
Raisin Pearl
Satin Silver Metallic
Taffeta White

To bring this thread back to the original poser’s question, in ’00 “Heather Mist Metallic” (which is what my car is) was replaced with “Naples Gold Metallic” which is significantly more gold looking. So ’99 was the last year of the Heather Mist color / name.

I believe that the Dark Emerald Pearl was the dark green color. I really liked it but the only 5-speed manual transmission Accord they had was the Heather Mist which also happened to be a color that my wife liked. So that’s what we got.
