Default swapping

Ok, so I have a 91 si with a ZC swap. But the motor has cracked cam seals. So super oil leakage. I plan on swapping my 94 b18b out of my integra in to the EF.

My question is if it is worth swapping the b18 with 165k miles, or should i get the ZC rebuilt. OR should i get a new d16? Im broke, and my integra has to go. ANy suggestions?

are you just trying to get your car to run? or are you looking for performance? if you just need your car to run and need $$, why don't you just sell the integra like you wanted to, and pick up a cheap d16? if your looking for performance, swap the b18b in the EF, and boost the **** out of it, if funds permit.

^^^ +1

How many miles are on the ZC? I wouldn't throw the B18B in it over the ZC if you plan on boosting. Not saying the ZC is better or anything, it's just my opinion.

Im guessing there is about 135k miles on the ZC. But thats what the odometer says. wouldn't it cost more to fix the seals than to get a new motor?

I want to get the EF running but with performance. How much to get the cams replaced?

I dont' think anyone would want to buy the Integra either because of all the body dmg. i think i would lose money by sellin the integra then finding a swap for my EF. Money pit.

I'd pull the ZC, fix the seals out of the car, then sell it.

Part out the DC if think you're gonna lose money by selling it as is. You're on the right site to part out a DC.

Drop a D16 in there. V-TEC or not, a SOHC is my first choice. Even if I had money for DOHC, I'd still rock a SOHC.

All IMHO.

how much to fix the seals. and how much would a zc sell for?
d16 > zc?

I dont' really know what to do with the DC. front bumper damage, fender dmg, rear bumper dmg and primered, needs paint, previous owner put lame underglow with screws comming through the floor. ugly taillights. all the screws have been takin out of all the panels. HOnestly, i don't know what i could part out but the motor and the seats. steering wheel? i dont know.

what do you guys think of the b18b swap and junking the DC? bad idea?

The cam seals are a cheap part, it depends on if you're able to do the work. At a minimum you can save some money by removing the head yourself then paying somebody to do the work.

I'd think a ZC with that amount of mileage would probably go for $200 at most.

Well your going to have to do a little research to see what seal fit the zc. I don’t know because I have only messes with b series stuff so far (although I think a nasty turbo D is in my future)
Any way if you look at this site the seals are #24 and only cost $5 ea.
http://www.hondaautomotivepart...EC%29

I have replaced cam seals many time and it is easy.
Take off the valve cover.
Set the engine to tdc #1 (make sure your timing marks are lined up)
Take of the cam caps
Tilt the cams up and slip them out from under the timing belt.
Remove the cam gears. Replace the seals.
Put the gears back on.
Replace the camshafts in the head line up the timing marks.
Tighten down the cam caps.
Put a dab of hondabond at the corners of the seals
Replace the o ring on the dizzy, put a new cam plug in(with hondabond), replace all the valve cover orings (might as well fix all the leaks while your at it)
Put the valve cover back on.

It should be around 30-50 buck for all the parts.
