Wierd Alpine Deck , cuts out for like 10 + secs randomly alot lately..
Im running an Alpine CDA-7863 with a powercap and four channel amp, but wierd thing is, lately my deck has been cutting out and not playing anything for like 10-40 seconds randomly... for example i would be listening to my CD, then hear it make a very faint strange noise then it would stop playing any sounds for about 10sec to about 40 secs, the time varies..
it all started happening after i replaced some wires to hook up to my ipod.. what can it be? i doubt any wires are loose cause most of the time it plays fine, just randomly it would die out, then continue playing .. (deck is still on, the time / numbers / seconds are still counting, but just no sound is being heard)

Well since you took the headunit out to put in a ipod. I would go back and check out everything to make sure its okay. Either something is loose or grounding out. Or the headunit is about to go.

i only replaced the 2 wires that connect to AUX , the RCA's since my old one was kinda broken (sometimes only would play on the left side)

if i remember right...wasn't the 7863 one of the first generation flip-flat face V-Drive radios from Alpine? if so, i remember having to replace a few of those cuz the internal amps started to go and the preouts were going bad too. anybody else have any experience like this?
