clutch fork doesnt have enough play to reach the cable.
I have a DA (1990 integra) and I just did a clutch replacement. After I finished and droped it back in, I notice that fork had a little play but not enough to make the cable reach. I took everything out again and took everything off. Put everything back and the same problem. The fork moves just about an inch, i tried with all my strength to pull it up but it wont move more. What could be the problem, I need help ASAP thx.
im posting here because theres more knowledge about cable trannys here, thx.

make sure you have the right throw-out bearing in there ... or drop the tranny back out and manually move the fork by hand, if the fork still wont move, somethings wrong with the tranny, if it moves then, but not when you have it hooked up, something wrong with the clutch assembly itself ...
I think something in the way of the throwout bearing fork though ...

good thing the tranny is out of the car. I took of the tranny 3 times and even tried the new clutch I was going to throw in but didnt put it because it came with a different throw out bearing. When I took off the tranny, I manually moved it with my hand to see if anything was holding it. Once I put back the tranny, everything bolted, the fork still didnt move much. I got mad and pulled on the the fork very hard, it went up. I notice that theres some kind of mid point were it jumps over and goes up. Im starting to think the problem is the throw out bearing. I tried 2 different flywheels, 2 diff clutch disk, 2 diff pressure plates, 2 inner bearings (inside flywheel), except for the throwout bearing. Theres gotta be someone whos had this problem before, please help and thx.
try taking off the clutch cable from the pedal.. putiing the tranny side on first and then put it back on the pedal .. it always works for me
well the lever has a little play that you can feel with your hands and the rest of the play you cant pull on with your hands, thats how mine was on my b16 you just have to pull of on the cable to get it to pop in.... If you have to take of the bracket that holds the cable right above the lever, attach the cable and bolt the bracket back down....
If thats not the deal then something may be installed wrong, i never installed a clutch btw...

i actually have the opposite problem...i have 91 ef hatch with d16z6 in it...the car was runnin fine till started to have a 3rd gear grind...so i bought another 91 si trans and bought a competion six puck clutch for a d16z6...once i put the clutch on and bolted the trans up....my clutch fork has 100% play...i can lift it all the way up to the top...it just flops around...lol so once i connect my clutch cable and try to drive the car the clutch pedal goes to the floor and it dont disengage my clutch so i cant get into gear? what do i do

Your problem is most definetely the spring that pushes back the fork back in to place. You didnt install it right and it is not being pulled by that spring.

So I was talking with this mechanic dood that works on this gas station. He said it sounds like a pressure plate problem, maybe not the right flywheel. Any more info from HTers?
This happens all the time. I had the same problem. just use a floor jack to jack the arm up high enough to get the cable on. You just need to pull it up farther. The pressure plate is a lot stiffer than a d-series. you cant pull it by hand. just use the jack and take it for a little drive. A OK

What he said, or you can do like I did. With the tranny already installed, unbolt the bracket in which the clutch cable goes, put the clutch cable through the bracket and bolt it back up. Then all you have to do is tighten the plastic nut down to where it is pretty tight with your fingers and your good to go.

92+ b series pressure plate and flywheel are all same.
You won't be able to lift the release fork by hand. You're acting against the pressure plate and you won't be strong enough to do it. Adjust the clutch cable all the way out, then use a long pry bar against the release fork for leverage
And don't worry about that guys problem. It's been 4 years. I should hope he got it resolved
