Disabling Seat Belt Beeper
I have a health problem that prohibits me from wearing seat belts. I would like to disable the seat belt beeper in my 2004 Civic. I'm aware of the junkyard belt option, but would like something a little cleaner. What can be done?
There has to be a more elegant way. Presumably the system works by the buckle completing a circuit. If I could find the wires that the buckle creates a circuit with and splice them, presumably the beeper will be disabled by being fooled into thinking it is always buckled.
Does anyone know how to do this (or is the system more complex than I've surmised)?

The SRS plug under the seat is yellow in color. You might be able to jump the connection with a paperclip or something, but I do not know which pins to jump.

Thanks.
A little googling turned this up, which apparently works for a Honda Element:

Same thing for my Civic? Also, I looked under the seat and there is a yellow plug and a grey plug. The previous link suggests the grey plug is the one that needs jumping. Your thoughts?

Yeah, that does look like the floor wire harness plug. I guess it makes sense, since you're only telling the dash harness that the seatbelt is unplugged, not the SRS unit. Having your seatbelt undone just prevents the airbag from firing, according to the SRS.
So, yes, it does make sens just to jump that plug.

Worked like a charm. I disconnected the grey plug with the black, light green, and blue/red wires, which I gather is the Floor Wire Harness 3P Connector. I modified the plans at the website I posted slightly; I cut the black and light green wires, stripped them, and spliced them with a wire nut, then secured the spliced black/light green and what remained of the Floor Wire Harness 3P Connector to the rest of the wires under the driver's seat with a wire tie.
The seat belt indicator on the dash no longer lights up, nor do I have to deal with that horrible beeping sound. Thanks for the help.

does having your seat belt off only prevent your side airbags from going off? because i had my front ones go off a few months ago even tho i wasnt wearing my seatbelt. the side ones however did not. i had been having some issues with my srs around then anyway so i figured it was cuz of that not cuz of the seat belt.

That wasn't quite as funny as I had expected.
